Perched on the 56th floor of the Menara Petronas Tower 3 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Nobu KL boasts a 360 degree view of the surrounding cityscape. Bridging between traditional Japanese roots and contemporary nuances, the minimalist details throughout the space contribute to a refined sensitivity and subtle decadence that define the Nobu brand.

Encompassing a full floor of the skyscraper, the restaurant spaces lead to one another with thoughtful details constructed from a warm and rich palette of iroko wood, teak, limestone, and natural linen colored fabrics. These materials remove the space from the urban landscape below, into a world rich in glowing tones of gold and deep purple.

Faced with a challenging layout, the design team looked to create a continuous experience around the whole floor yet provide flexible spaces offering gentle transitions from the bustle of the restaurant to the private spaces of the Petronas Lounge. Revolving room partitions stretching floor-to-ceiling enable the spaces within the restaurant to transform from small and intimate to large and expansive in order to accommodate a wide variety of dining and entertaining possibilities. Without the use of partitions, full bars sit at each corner of the floor, acting as a landmark and creating clusters of energy that dissipate throughout the entire floor.
